Abstract: | This study focuses on enhancing student engagement in a Pre-University masterclass by implementing a student-centered blended learning approach within a flipped classroom setting. Following an Educational Design Research framework, the research begins with a needs analysis based on data from participant surveys. The masterclass is then redesigned according to flipped classroom guidelines, and a pilot test is conducted to assess the effectiveness of the new approach. The study finds that students' ability to access materials at their own pace outside of class, combined with interactive in-class activities, significantly enhances their engagement. Overall, this research addresses a gap in flipped classroom research in secondary education and underscores the potential for improving the educational experience through a student-centered, blended learning approach. |
