| Abstract: | Autonomy in mental health care has gained importance, and digital patient portals are seen as a potential tool to support this aspect of care. However, it is unclear how these portals align with patient needs and their effectiveness in promoting autonomy. This study aimed to investigate if and how patients experience autonomy in their treatment, the extent to which the digital patient portal meets the needs and expectations of different patient groups in specialized and generalized mental health care, and their role in promoting autonomy in the treatment. |
