Abstract: | This paper strives to construct a value co-creation process that supports in transitioning towards a circular economy. This process is achieved using insights from different stakeholders that operate within the same industry: the industry for lithium-ion batteries. Thirteen relevant stakeholders have shared their insights in this paper by sharing their perspectives in direct interviews. The first step in each interview is to look at each stakeholders’ drivers and barriers that may assist or hinder within this transition. Secondly all thirteen stakeholders have contributed to this paper by shaping the value co-creation based on their ideas on what this should look like, what roles should be taken and what responsibilitiesshould be agreed on. Furthermore, examples of value co-destruction were discussed. The results support existing theory on value co-creation by applying a direct stakeholder perspective in an underexplored industry and coming up with an example of how value co-creation can manifest in this transition. Additionally, the findings help companies in the same or similar industry to understand a transition towards circularity better with the help of stakeholder involvement. |
