Abstract:The infrarenal neck afer endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is dynamic, not only during a cardiac cycle but also over time. Widening of the aortic neck over time has been associated with type Ia ELs. However, there is an ongoing debate about the role of disease progression versus the role of oversizing. This thesis considers the local affects on the local changes in oversizing during one year EVAR follow-up. Moreover, this thesis considers changes in the seal zone during a cardiac cycle, as a proof of concept of the occurence of intermittent type Ia endoleaks. Results: This thesis found that initial achieved local oversizing is directly related to decrease in achieved local oversizing one year after EVAR. Preoperative local diameters and measurement location also impact the amount of achieved local oversizing decrease after one year. Moreover, in one patient seal zone variations were present during the cardiac cycle. Hence, the first indication was found that intermittent type Ia ELs may be present during the cardiac cycle.
