Navigating RGS risks : seamless transition solutions
Middelburg, Mandy (2024)
Wolters B.V. adopted the Resultaat Gericht Samenwerken (RGS) method in 2014 to enhance their real estate maintenance services. The RGS method emphasizes collaboration and result-oriented approaches in maintenance procedures. This study aims to analyse the risks and challenges associated with implementing RGS and develop strategies to mitigate them, focusing on Wolters B.V. Qualitative research, including document analyses and stakeholder dialogues, identified key risks such as organizational misalignment, complex environments, ineffective project governance, other stakeholders’s lack of capabilities, lack of organizational support, and legal risks in governance. Mitigation strategies were formulated collaboratively, addressing each risk individually. These strategies include organizational alignment, capacity building, effective collaboration processes, legal framework design, and strategic goal setting. The study’s implications extend beyond Wolters B.V., offering a roadmap for other companies in the real estate maintenance industry transitioning to a service-oriented model. Future research suggestions include broader industry studies, exploration of specific risks, and validation of findings through repeated testing with both existing and new respondents. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance understanding and reliability in managing RGS-related risks.
