Abstract: | This study aims to enhance output by improving the tactical planning of TenCate Grass. The methodology involves a tactical extrusion planning model based on a simulation heuristic, the normalized weighted simulated annealing algorithm for multi-objective optimization. Objectives include minimizing die changes, due date deviations, and twine line standard deviation to enhance planning and reduce errors. Results show an improvement to the current planning used by TenCate. For the optimization, empty dummy batches are used within this study. Incorporating empty dummy batches positively impacts planning and production output. The model's simplicity and workload distribution contribute to these improvements. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis is performed to provide insights into the effect of different parameters. |
