Evaluating the performance of the loading algorithm for Light Electronic Freight Vehicles

Abstract:
A company was loading parcels into Light Electric Freight Vehicles with a loading algorithm. This algorithm used the volume of the parcels to determine where their location in roll-containers should be. This thesis analysed the change in performance of the solution when the location allocation was done based on the dimensions of the parcels and implementing LIFO constraints. This analysis can help determine future policy making for switching between loading approaches.
