Abstract: | In a system combining Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and imaging spectroscopy, unwanted reflections—commonly referred to as glare—compromise the accurate quantification of optical and biological properties from the acquired reflectance spectra. This study introduces a approach where glare is modeled as a Fresnel reflection, which is then integrated into a model that correlates the measured reflectance with optical properties. We demonstrate the effectiveness of this method using a model from a similar spectroscopy technique, suggesting the potential benefits of developing a glare-inclusive model specifically tailored for the unique spectroscopic imaging configurations of our new benchtop system. |
