Abstract:This research analyzed and improved the inventory management at Aebi Schmidt Nederland B.V., a manufacturing company producing spreaders and sweepers, located in Holten, the Netherlands. The goal of this research is to reduce the total raw material inventory value by designing inventory control policies suitable for Aebi Schmidt Nederland B.V. This research shows how inventory control policies, including the XYZ Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) classification method, statistical distributions for demand and lead time variability, and parameter determination, can be applied in a Make-T0-Order/Engineer-To-Order manufacturing setting. The proposed inventory control policies have been tested using a simulation model in Python Spyder. The results analysis shows that the proposed inventory control policies reduce the total raw material inventory value by approximately 19%.
