Abstract:This study examines the possible negative side of innovative ideas. We used multiple regression analysis to test the hypotheses. As expected, the research results show that innovative ideas only lead to task conflict at a low organizational transparency. The research results also show, as we expected, that task conflict leads to conflict stress and that conflict stress leads to emotioneal exhaustion, the core concept of burn-out. We further expected that task conflict leads to emotional exhaustion through conflict stress. However, the results show there is no mediating effect of conflict stress on the relation between task conflict and emotional exhaustion. Still, the results show that we can speak of a trend, which means that conflict stress does play a certain role in the relation between task conflict and emotional exhaustion. Further research is needed to give a better explanation.
