Onderzoek naar new business development in hemelwaterafvoer

Allin, Paul (2007)

Good drainage systems are becoming increasingly more important because of changing weather patterns. Scenarios created by the Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) show how winters are likely to become wetter and summers dryer. The intensity of downpours is also expected to increase. Changes in precipitation patterns lead to various problems, especially in densely populated regions with a high percentage of paved areas. As a consequence, water floods streets and buildings, resulting in, potentially substantial economic damage. In an attempt to deal with this problem, European and National governments have issued laws to which local councils need to comply. However, national laws leave much room for discussion, stating what is expected in general but omitting specific guidelines.
