A Tossing And Turning Giant. Politicisation Of The EU Issue in The Netherlands, 2002-2012

In this thesis, i show the two conditions for EU issue voting (issue salience and perceived partisan conflict) have increased significantly in the Netherlands between 2002 an 2012. However, evidence of EU issue voting cannot be found. To explain this unexpected result, I focus on mainstream parties and their attitude towards the EU issue.
