Abstract: | Introduction: Rheumatism includes several chronic diseases of the locomotor system, which are associated with pain, tiredness and restriction of motion. The consequences of the disease can cause a decrease in quality of life. Because there is no treatment for the disease, it is important to reduce the impact of the disease, for example by protecting the psychological health of the patients. Factors which may help protect the mental health include positive emotions and resilience. This research therefore focused on the relation between positive emotions and mental health of people with rheumatic diseases and the role of resilience in this relation. In particular, it was investigated if resilience has a mediating or moderating influence on the relation between positive emotions and mental health. |
