Abstract:Innovations in healthcare technology can improve care, ease work and save costs. In view of the increase in the aging population and budgets for the European care system, that remain the same or even decline, innovations in healthcare technologies are seen as a solution to these issues. At the same time, care is becoming increasingly more client-orientated and the healthcare professionals of the mentally disabled, often see healthcare technology as frigid. They experience care technology only as valuable when the client benefits. Co-workers play a major role when it comes to the adaptation of healthcare technology, so it is very important to investigate what is needed for them to implement innovations within care. A widely used model for examining technology acceptance is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which relates to the adoption of technology and the attitude of the user.
