Although it is an important aspect of water management, implementation of public participation mechanism is a challenging task for administrations, as a number of elements needs to be considered. The objective of this researcher is to create empirical and methodological insights on participatory water management in Turkey. The research methodology involved a qualitative analysis and a systematic in-depth review process for peer-reviewed publications available on Scopus database. Implementations have been made towards meeting of WFD requirements are promising changes in the country.
