Abstract:Nowadays robots are transforming from bulky and dangerous machinery to a friendly and social companion which can feel, think and interact with human beings. The task of this master assignment is to design and build “AstroBot” and test how people react to it. AstroBot will be a unique robot which will first act as an HMMM (Heterogeneous Multi-Modal Mixing) prototyping machine and secondly as a personal astrologist. HMMM platform allows a robot to become alive and mimicking live being by doing gestures or acting like one. Hypothetically this should increase the persuasion skill of designed robot. Astrobot will incorporate one of the most ancient technologies available to humanity - Jyotish - Vedic Astrology. Using voice recognition robot will interact with human and based on date, time and place of birth, offer astrological predictions which should hypothetically at least impress a person and create a bond between robot and human.
