Abstract: | The dual field discretization is applied to decomposed domain to obtain a physics-compatible discretization method. The domain is decomposed such that each subdomain has homogeneous boundary conditions. The dual field discretization works by solving for the inner forms on one subdomain and for the outer forms on the other subdomain. The subdomains are then coupled on the shared interface. The 2D Poisson problem is simulated on a unit square using the proposed method. The curl-free condition is obtained in one subdomain. The power balance is preserved for each individual subdomain as well as on the entire coupled domain. Lastly, a time staggering scheme is applied to reduce the computational cost without having a negative effect on the results. |
