Optimize the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) of Vink Kunststoffen to improve warehouse efficiency

This thesis aims to improve the item selection and zoning for Vink Kunststoffen's Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS). The methodology involves a simulation model that tests different scenarios regarding items and zoning strategies. The simulation model analyzes performance based on the key performance indicator total travel time (s). The results show that a different zoning strategy and item selection improve the AS/RS performances and, thus, the overall warehouse efficiency.
