Breathing Life into Animatronics
Davo Sainz, Jorge (2024)
This thesis explores the design and implementation of a multi-layered interaction engine for an animatronic creature, aiming to create natural and engaging interactions with theme park visitors. The engine employs a rule-based system, blending subtle base animations with randomized default behaviors and responsive reactions to audio and facial cues. Evaluations, incorporating observation, metrics, and expert opinions, demonstrate the engine's effectiveness in achieving lifelike interactions.
