Abstract:
This paper performs a research with a Light detection and ranging sensor which measures distances with laser beams and an RGB camera that visualises the surrounding, including objects. Those sensors are installed in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) with the goal in detecting and identifying moving objects. This research conducts only a simulation and an experiment by modelling the described environment. This research compares processing times by applying computer vision and more specifically edge detection between LIDAR and RGB. The accuracy of these detected edges are also examined.
