Redesigning the warehouse and internal logistics at Scania Production Zwolle using discrete event simulation

Scania Production Zwolle is considering relocation of their pallet supply warehouse to a different location within the facility. This thesis provides Scania with several possibilities for the warehouse design in this new location based on existing methods from literature. This includes possible layouts as well as storage policies for the new warehouse. Furthermore, this thesis provides methods by which the pallets can be transported from the warehouse to the production area. By means of a Discrete Event Simulation model all the provided options are compared on the Key Performance Indicators.
