Explorative Development of a Standing Device for Active Paraplegics

This research aims to explore different conceptual design directions for a new standing aid for physically/socially active adult paraplegics with a lesion located between the T11 to L2 vertebrae, that can be used in combination with their lightweight wheelchairs. Three concepts have been developed, one of which has been selected, aided by input from the end users and developed further to the level where a functional prototype can be built.
