Increasing Land-Monitoring equipment availability by improving the inventory policy in Fugro’s workshop

The aim of this research is to increase the amount of Land-Monitoring equipment available immediately after an equipment order arrives at the workshop. This study investigates the possibility of increasing this availability by introducing a safety stock of inspected equipment, by changing the inspection moment from after the order is received to before the order is received. The base stock level of this safety stock is calculated using a mathematical model and the optimised using simulation
