Machine design for Ex-Core industrialization

Author(s): Schalk, D. (2024)

Abstract:
Ex-Core is a promising candidate material in the development of high-performance sports cars, yet the current manual production process has several problems. To that end, the ingredient dosing step should be industrialized to reduce labour efforts in the production process and yield a more consistent high-quality end product. Therefore, the most efficient methods for industrialization are explored through market research, analysis of prior project outcomes, and experimental testing. Accordingly, a design proposal is presented to address the material handling, accuracy, capacity, and cost requirements specified by Donkervoort. Overall, the design proposal has the potential to satisfy all the essential requirements, however further developments are necessary for its successful implementation within the Ex-Core production facility.
