Abstract:
In this study we investigate unacceptable, antisocial behaviour of young people in the Twente region (The Netherlands). We have looked into the differences between migrant and indigenous youth, specifically regarding the nature and frequency of their (mis) behaviour. Furthermore we have looked at possibly related factors of this antisocial behaviour in order to find out, if there are differences between migrant and autochthonal youth. For this study, we have used the Electronic Monitoring and Information (system) (E-MOVO). The E-MOVO is an internet-based self-reporting questionnaire that has been developed by a number of Public Health Services (GGD) from Overijssel and Gelderland, in co-operation with Maastricht University. This self-reporting system is conducted by means of the internet among young people in years two and four of Dutch secondary education (GGD, 2004).
