Abstract:
This research has tried to find an answer on the question if a better fit between organizational strategy and organizational climate leads to more strategic employee behavior in the form of innovative behavior, customer oriented behavior and knowledge sharing. A questionnaire was conducted among five companies (N = 160) in medium-sized enterprises. Results of correlation analysis show that, as expected, for some of the fit couples a positive relationship was found with expected strategic behavior. The results show that a fit between marketing differentiation strategy and rational goal climate is positively related to innovative behavior as well as customer oriented behavior; a fit between service differentiation strategy and group climate is positively related to knowledge sharing; a fit between innovation differentiation strategy and development climate is positively related to innovative behavior shown and knowledge shared by employees.
