Het effect van de training Inzicht in Invloed® op de Regulatory Focus - Een onderzoek naar de invloed van de Regulatory Focus op trainingseffecten.
Müller, Emiel (2013)
On behalf of Bureau Zuidema research has been conducted into the appreciation of the training Inzicht in Invloed®. The purpose of this thesis is to explain the difference in appreciation between open and in-company offered training courses. A second objective was to gain insight into the relationship between regulatory focus and training effects. Through a pre-and post-test at 134 participants it has been examined whether a promotion focus or a prevention focus is more conspicuously present at the start of the training. It is examined how this focus affects self-efficacy, work engagement and job satisfaction. The results show that no significant differences were found between the groups of the open and in-company offered training courses. An important finding of this study is that both participants of the open and in-company offered training courses show an increase in promotion focus and a decrease in prevention focus. In addition, it appears that after training both participants have a higher general self-efficacy and are more engaged in their work than before the training. With regard to the regulatory focus it has been found that participants who have a saliently higher promotion focus have a higher degree of general self-efficacy and are more engaged and satisfied about their work compared to participants who have a more saliently prevention focus. This study has also revealed that participants who have a higher general self-efficacy are more engaged and satisfied about their work compared to participants with a low general self-efficacy. The main conclusion is that no significant differences have been found between the open and in-company offered trainingcourses, but that the training Inzicht in Invloed® causes an increase in promotion focus and a decrease in prevention focus. This implies that after participating in the training there is an increase of focus aimed at growth (promotion focus) and a decrease of a focus aimed at safety (prevention focus).
