Reduction of the duration of the order fulfillment process.

Lenderink, W.R. (2014)

This thesis is about finding the main constraints that determine the current length of the order fulfillment process. This in order to come up with possible solutions to reduce the duration of the order fulfillment process. The order fulfillment process represents the time required to convert a received order into a delivery to the customer. The duration of this process is influenced by the order handling lead time and delivery lead time. These lead times are influenced by factors of time. Interviews and measurement data of order handling lead time and delivery lead time provide insight in the main constraints and gives direction to applicable strategies to reduce these lead times and ultimately the order fulfillment process.
