Abstract:
The central focus of this study is the relationship between the school board’s management regime on the one hand, and the extent of (dis)agreement in the citizenship education views of the school board and its social studies teachers on the other hand. Therefore this study aims in the first place to gain insights into the extent to which the views of social studies teachers regarding citizenship education correspond to their school board’s view on citizenship education. The second aim of this study is to contribute to insights into the extent to which these (dis)agreements in these views can be attributed to the characteristics of the school board’s management regime.
