This thesis aims to provide a study on the constraints of technology adoption in the automotive sector, with a focus on a material substitution. The accompanying research topics are adoption and innovation theories, theory of competitive strategy, and the role of organizational buyers. The case of this thesis is the adoption of Advanced Thermoplastic Composites in the automotive industry. The research objective is stated as following: finding out which factors could speed up the adoption process of advanced thermoplastic composites in automotive applications.
