Perceived credibility in mHealth apps : a case study on a sleep scheduling app for insomnia

Author(s): Ahuja, M. (2018)

Abstract:
We describe Sleep Scheduler, an Android application to provide CBT-I, this being a collaborative effort between TU/e, Philips, and Kampenhaeghe Sleep Centre. There have been attempts to digitise CBT-I, while a few of them such as SleepIO and SHUTi have been successful, a majority have failed to keep the patient adhere to their treatment. We explored the domain of persuasive design to examine the adherence of Sleep Scheduler. The role of credibility in such an app's adherence was also investigated.
