Designing a process for procuring biocomposite bridge decks based on Technology Readiness Levels
Ebbelaar, B.P. (2019)
This research was initiated to determine how the designing of procurement processes can be improved when procuring innovations in the construction industry. This is relevant because public clients have to confront several complex challenges, like climate change and the threatening resource scarcity, and need innovations to do so. To increase the adoption of innovations in projects, procurement is often seen as both a potential barrier and a tool to improve the situation. To determine how this aspect of procurement can be managed for the adoption of innovation in Dutch construction projects this research has formulated the following objective: Designing a process for determining how to procure construction projects which include an ambition that requires a product innovation to be fulfilled.
