Identifying Users’ Skill Level through the Process Mining of Software Logs

These days, information systems generate extraordinary amounts of data. A very useful metric for improving these information systems is the skill level of a user. Therefore, this research will demonstrate how different skill levels of users can be identifed, based on a software generated request log. After pre-processing the raw data of a request log, process mining will be applied to the resulting event log to generate models, which will be used to identify differences between different skill levels of users. Therefore, this paper describes in a way to identify different skill levels of users and it describes how to extract those levels from software logs. Furthermore, this paper illustrates how these results could be applied in order to improve the currently existing software system.
