Lead time reduction in the transport of reverse parcels

Company X faces high lead times of their reverse parcel process, resulting in a service level below the desired 95 percent. In this research, we identify the causes of the high lead times and create a discrete-event simulation model to evaluate four scenarios in order to reduce the lead times. At the end, we give recommendations how Company X could shorten the lead times of their reverse parcel process, on the condition that the 95 percent service level is obtained.
