Research on Experience at Small Stations and Design of StationsOmmetje

This report is Marijn Kleijer’s master thesis for the completion of the study Industrial Design Engineering at the University of Twente. This report presents the process and results of the graduation project which is executed for the Dutch Railways (NS). The project includes research and design with the aim of understanding and improving the experience of small train stations. Methodologies that have been applied include scenario based design, context mapping and dilemma-driven design. The final result is the design of StationsOmmetje in which passengers are invited to explore fascination around stations.
