The cost and complexity of recruitment

Engelse, Lieke. W. A (2021)

Recruitment is a process that is represented in every company. However, there is a high level of variety in activities, strategic choices, and ways to go about it. This variety creates difficulty in estimating costs of recruitment, and to make prognosis of a “good” recruitment, whether costs of recruitment are paid off by a quality of a hire and the integration in an organization. But what aspects are influencing the cost and complexity? In this research we are trying to answer this by interviewing recruiters from varying backgrounds including MKBs, big companies and outsourcing agencies about the Recruitment activity, Costs, Recruitment objective, Recruitment strategy, and Trends. Learned is that in the technological sector no company works without the use of outsourcing agencies. Moreover, the complexity is mainly due to scarcity and the war for talent, where costs are to be found in outsourcing, time and keeping deadlines.
