Abstract:
Human flourishing refers to an optimal state of mental well-being. It comprises of a combination of hedonic well-being (emotional well-being) and eudaimonic well-being (psychological and social well-being). Flourishing is known to have several beneficial effects on the individual’s life, including positive relationships and resilience towards mental illnesses. Nevertheless, little is known about how the 14 dimensions of well-being constitute flourishing mental health. There is no available literature about what combination of well-being dimensions commonly ensures flourishing mental health and whether it is possible to identify subgroups of people with similar flourishing profiles.
