Development of a methodology for efficient determination of process parameters in Pulse Electro-Chemical Machining

Mesu, J. (2023)

Ter Hoek Vonkerosie Rijssen B.V. tries to carry out the production of single pieces to small series using PECM because of the advantages the process can bring to high-quality products. However, feasibility studies are often very timeconsuming and do not yield sufficient results. In this work, a material characterisation method is developed for use in combination with an industrial PECM machine namely the PEM 800. The uniqueness of this is that there is a great similarity with the test method and practical production conditions. No reference electrode is used, despite the fact that material machinability, material-specific material removal rate and surface quality could be determined using this method. Developing the method, proving its reliability and validity is explained in this work.
