A novel 3D-bioprinting platform for the formation of dense tissue fibres from dilute Newtonian bioinks deposited into thixotropic Xanthan Gum Embedding Baths

Abstract:
The development and proof of concept of a novel extrusion 3D-bioprinting platform using Xanthan Gum derived hydrogel embedding baths. A unique XG-hydrogel characteristic caused a spontaneous local particle density increase, which allowed for the formation of dense structures from dilute Newtonian bioinks.
