Experimental study concerning the interplay between gear ratio and field weakening for maximizing explosive motion of a jumping leg

Author(s): Janbroers, Jamie (2024)

Abstract:
This work presents the experimental findings of a jumping leg setup to increment the jump height due to field weakening control. In total 60 experiments were executed and analyzed. The increment in height depends on the gear ratio of the setup and the field weakening algorithm. The highest increase in height is 10.8% with an increase of 56.9% in mechanical energy. The results show that field weakening can be used to increase the performance of an explosive motion.
