Towards more standardized diagnostic breast cancer care pathways
Tekirdag, M. (2024)
This study examines the diagnostic care pathways for breast cancer in two Dutch hospitals. Key findings include the need for adequate time for healthcare providers, clear communication with patients, and the active role of Nurse Specialists. Pre-filling the anamnesis is also encouraged. Variations exist in the frequency of Multidisciplinary Meetings and in the methods for communicating biopsy results. The study concludes that these pathways can be further standardized and integrated to enhance care quality.
