Abstract: | This study evaluates the reliability and performance of the Water Productivity Open-access portal (WaPOR) version 3 dataset for its application in precision agriculture across various European countries. Given the increasing importance of optimizing water usage in agriculture to ensure sustainable practices, the focus is on the accuracy of WaPOR v3 in estimating Net Primary Productivity (NPP) and Actual Evapotranspiration and Interception (AETI). The study employs remote sensing methods to compute gross biomass water productivity (GBWP) and assesses water use efficiency by utilizing eddy covariance data. The results provide valuable insights into the reliability of the dataset and offer information on its applicability for precision and sustainable agriculture. This assessment underscores the dataset's potential to support effective agricultural planning and water resource management. |
