Abstract: | Previous studies (concerning the TERRA/LUNA framework and target setups like the Production Cell) have shown that the respective implementations focussed either on the precise porting of a design methodology (like the GAC) or on execution efficiency. Hereby, the generic architecture component (GAC) which is a software-pattern-like construct is supposed to automate ECS development from a modelling point of view. It is stated in previous studies that the first GAC implementation showed that for the chosen hardware target the approach was found feasible. However, it was also found to need more improvement esp. in regard to efficient hardware resource usage as well as completeness for formal model checking. The goal is thus not only to prove the hypothesis in the specific application to the given Production Cell, but to provide a tool-native ECS design template for a model-driven software project. It should reflect the found improvements on the way-of-working principles and enable future engineers to create easily customized embedded control software that meets all identified ECS requirements. |
