Abstract: | Finger vein recognition is an emerging technique in biometrics. Capture of sufficient vein detail from a well-exposed image is crucial for its operation. We present a novel finger-adaptive illumination control algorithm and an exposure fusion based imaging procedure for finger vein imaging on a prototype device. The novel approach enables sub-second capturing of well-exposed images and shows significant improvements in match scores. |
