Abstract: | Company X receives more Requests For Quotation (RFQs) than current capacity can handle. Moreover, the department responsible for handling the RFQs picks up RFQs with little chance of converting into a sale. This research addresses these issues by creating a supervised machine learning tool, referred to as the prioritisation tool, that predicts the probability of sale for RFQs. In addition, a natural language processing tool is created, referred to as the information extraction module, which automatically and autonomously extracts information from RFQs. With this extracted information, the machine learning data set required as input for the prioritisation tool can be gathered. Afterwards, the prioritisation tool can be applied to prioritise RFQs on sales potential. Thus, sequential application of the information extraction module and prioritisation tool enable Company X to have their RFQs automatically and autonomously prioritised on sales potential. |
