Abstract: | There are many people suffering from visual impairments around the world who still rely on canes and guiding dogs to help them navigate outside. Current navigation methods are however awed and don't take advantage of strides in technology that could allow for better navigation. In this project a team of three students of the university of Twente will attempt to develop a navigational aid for people with visual impairments, using computer vision and haptic feedback. Unlike many attempts made before the development and design process will be performed in close collaboration with workers from that sector and potential end users themselves. |
