Abstract: | As mobile networks grow in both user numbers and throughput, so does their energy consumption. Upward trends in energy prices are a strong motivator for network operators to set up a more efficient system. Besides direct monetary costs, there are other motivators such as climate impact and network resilience. One possible solution to these problems is for network operators to share their resources. In this paper we will investigate to what extent cellular networks can save energy through resource sharing. |
