Abstract: | This research aims to improve local inventory management in a healthcare setting, such that the on-hand availability of surgical supplies increases and the amount of overstocking and number of emergency orders decrease. In this research, we develop a simulation model that provides users with intuitive experiences as they can observe how the inventory behaves over time. We perform a case study on the storerooms of the operations room (OR) department of Isala to determine the applicability in practice. Isala Hospital provides care to the inhabitants living in, or close to, the region Zwolle. |
