Abstract: | Blockchain systems have risen in popularity in recent years, and many industries started adopting this technology. This can be attributed to their features, such as decentralization, consistency, anonymity, and transparency. Despite these advantages, as with other technologies, they are not immune to anomalous activities. The distinct characteristics of the blockchain make it more difficult to detect anomalies in such networks than the traditional ones. This research paper focuses on detecting anomalies within a dataset of Bitcoin transactions. It aims to improve understanding of anomaly behaviours within blockchain networks and explore how these anomalies can be effectively identified. Moreover, it tries to enhance existing methods for static anomaly detection and provide a comprehensive theoretical analysis of dynamic anomaly detection techniques. |
