Abstract: | The production facility of TOMRA located in Apeldoorn experiences capacity related production problems. This research concerns the development of a due date assignment method to optimize loading the workload of incoming orders in order to mitigate the production related problems. Additionally, the research includes a method to incorporate stochasticity related to the external lead times of a set of raw materials. Next to the model development, the research also focuses on the best way of solving the model by means heuristics in the production setting at TOMRA. |
